I have an amazing friend who loves sunflowers. She has, for as long as I can remember loved them and whenever I see one, I think of her. She even painted one and it sits next to me in my office. I look at it every day and think of her with a smile. She is the definition of kindness. I don’t think she ever turns anyone away and loves unconditionally without being taken advantage of. She has a heart bigger than anyone I know and will be there for you at the drop of a hat. She has boundaries and is a teacher who leads with love, but also demands respect and expects those around her follow the rules and respect themselves, those around them, and their environment.
Honestly, I could go on and on about her. She was my roommate for many years and she showed me what love really meant. She showed me how to act silly without fear of judgment (still working on that) and she is unapologetically open and caring. She visited me when I lived in northern Canada, not once, but twice. Nobody else visited me unless I paid the way, not even my family. I lived there for 8 years.
I share these things because this stamp set and coordinating dies were a must for me because of her. I know I will always have them in my collection because they bring me joy and make me think of her. I will periodically throw out a card from this set because I need to feel her presence. So, my dear friend, expect a little sunflower joy headed your way sometime soon.
